Recording BLAZE Sales During an Outage
When an outage prevents BLAZE from processing sales, the transaction still needs a complete record for later entry. BLAZE’s offline manual transaction guide separates walk-in and delivery details. Use the fields below as a capture checklist alongside the store’s approved outage procedure and applicable state rules.
Prepare the capture sheet
BLAZE lists paper, a pen, a calculator, and a cash-drawer key among the materials for manual sales. Its guide also calls for product retail prices, applicable tax information, cart details such as discounts, promotions, and currency exchange, and customer information before processing.
Record a walk-in sale
For each walk-in transaction, capture the customer’s name, date of birth, and consumer type; each product and quantity; and the unique product number or METRC tag. Record the financial detail separately: retail value, discounts, fees, applicable taxes, final amount paid, change due, payment type, and the transaction date and time.
Keep the entries tied to one transaction record. If the receipt includes several products, list their individual quantities and identifiers rather than only a cart total.
Add delivery details
For a delivery, the BLAZE guide adds the shop name and address, delivery and packaging employee names and numbers, customer or member number, the time the delivery was requested, and the delivery address. Record the customer and consumer type, individual products and measurements, unique identifiers, and the same price, discount, fee, tax, payment, and timestamp details used for a walk-in.
The guide also says to retain the receiving customer’s signature. Record the time the delivery was completed, not only the time it was requested.
Enter sales after recovery
BLAZE’s article says sales must be recorded in METRC within 24 hours. That statement is specific to its METRC outage guidance; confirm the requirement for the store’s jurisdiction and system. Once BLAZE is back up and stable, the guide says to enter the manual sales into BLAZE. It also notes that the transaction time can be changed after a BLAZE transaction is completed.
A useful local closeout is to reconcile the outage sheet against completed BLAZE transactions and the applicable traceability records before clearing the outage log. That gives the next shift a way to spot a manual ticket that has not yet been re-entered.
