BLAZE Inventory Reconciliation: Choose What Changes in METRC
BLAZE inventory reconciliation can change BLAZE quantities, METRC package quantities, or both. Its reconciliation guide describes separate adjustment modes and a batch setting that affect what gets submitted to METRC. Confirm the intended target before submitting; the count alone does not tell you which system should change.
Choose the target
Adjust by Difference changes the METRC package by the difference between the current amount and the counted actual amount. BLAZE describes this option for cases where BLAZE and METRC quantities do not match, including transactions that were not submitted to METRC.
Adjust by Actual Inventory sets the METRC package quantity to the actual quantity entered in BLAZE. Do Not Adjust METRC changes the BLAZE amount only and leaves METRC unchanged. Use the mode that matches the discrepancy you verified, not just the number in the count field.
BLAZE notes that employees need METRC adjustment permissions to use either mode that updates METRC. If the permission is missing, resolve access before submitting rather than choosing a BLAZE-only adjustment as a workaround.
Check the batch setting
The Reconcile By Batch checkbox groups the selected inventory by batch. BLAZE says that if this option is left unchecked, the reconciliation will not affect METRC. Check the package and batch view before submitting so the adjustment is aimed at the intended inventory record.
Write the reason and note
BLAZE requires a note for reconciliation submission. The note has a 200-character limit; a longer note prevents submission to METRC. The flow also asks for a reason when differences are present. BLAZE specifically notes that the Audit reason does not mirror METRC reasons and will not adjust METRC when selected.
Keep the note short and factual: identify the package or count event and the cause already established by the review. Do not use the note field as a substitute for selecting the correct adjustment mode or reason.
Review the submission
When METRC is enabled, BLAZE says reconciliations process in real time unless Do Not Adjust METRC is selected. After completing the report, open Reconciliation History and inspect the saved details. A useful local check is to confirm that BLAZE and METRC now show the intended quantities before closing the exception.
