BLAZE Auto-Apply Promotions: Limits and Exclusions

Before enabling an auto-applied discount, check the promotion version, the number of active auto-apply promotions, and which products qualify. BLAZE’s auto-apply guide documents these constraints for BLAZE and says the feature is also available in ECOM and Weedmaps.

Check the promotion version

Auto-apply is available only for V2 promotions, with a limit of ten per shop. BLAZE lists Cart, Product, and Delivery Fee as promotion types. Its guide also warns that if an auto-applied promotion is removed from an order, it will not automatically apply again.

Set eligibility and exclusions

Promotion rules can target products by category, product, vendor, product tag, or brand. The separate exclusions guide is narrower: exclusions are available only for V2 Product Promotions. It distinguishes the target, the requirements that must be met, and the items or brands to exclude from the discount.

Write down the intended result before changing those conditions. For example, a cart minimum is a requirement; a brand omitted from a product discount belongs in exclusions. The two settings answer different questions.

Test the cart behavior

BLAZE recommends verifying that a promotion works before enabling auto-apply. Test an eligible cart, a cart that misses a requirement, and a product that should be excluded. If the discount is manually removed, test the expected staff recovery step too, since BLAZE says it will not reapply automatically.

When the promotion is available across POS and online channels, confirm the same products and cart conditions behave as intended in each channel before making it active for customers.
